KEDAH DARUL AMAN - GOALKEEPER AWAY SHIRT 2024/2025
Kedah Darul Aman are one of the great institutions of Malaysian football, based in Alor Setar, the capital of Kedah in the far north of the peninsula. They trace their roots to 1924 and the old Kedah Football Association, before being privatised and rebranded as Kedah Darul Aman FC in 2021. Known as Sang Kenari (The Canaries), they play their home games at the 32,387-capacity Darul Aman Stadium. The state of Kedah is nicknamed Jelapang Padi, the rice bowl of Malaysia, and football has always been woven into the fabric of this northern region.
The 2024/2025 campaign, during which this bold goalkeeper away shirt was worn, was the club's 16th season in the Malaysia Super League and one of the hardest they have faced. Nafuzi Zain began the season in charge before club legend Victor Andrag took interim charge in November, and the Canaries finished 11th, winning six, drawing six and losing twelve of their 24 league matches, shipping 51 goals in the process. A three-point deduction and a RM50,000 fine early in the season made matters worse, and it ended painfully as Kedah were ejected from the Super League and demoted to the A1 Semi-Pro League after failing to secure a national licence for 2025/2026.
The cups provided some brighter moments. Kedah reached the semi-finals of the Malaysia FA Cup, drawing a season-high crowd of 18,317 for the meeting with eventual winners Johor Darul Ta'zim, and also reached the last four of the MFL Challenge Cup and the Round of 16 of the Malaysia Cup.
In goal, veteran Ifwat Akmal was joined by Kalamullah Al-Hafiz and Wan Syazmin Wan Rozaimi across a bruising season. Up the other end, Brazilian centre-back Cleylton was the club's leading league scorer with four, and Ghanaian forward Ebenezer Assifuah top-scored in all competitions with six, supported by Serbian striker Miloš Gordić and Haiti international Sony Norde.
