FIORENTINA - AWAY SHIRT 2025/2026
Fiorentina were founded in 1926 in Florence, the Tuscan capital famed for its Renaissance art and the fleur-de-lis that adorns the club badge. Nicknamed La Viola after the purple they have worn since the 1920s, they call the Stadio Artemio Franchi home. That signature purple, legend has it, was born when the club's early red and white shirts were washed in a river and ran together into violet.
The 2025/2026 season, during which this away shirt was worn on the club's travels, was Fiorentina's 99th and their 22nd consecutive Serie A campaign. It was a year of upheaval in the dugout. Raffaele Palladino walked away in the summer, Stefano Pioli returned from Saudi side Al-Nassr, and after a woeful start that left the club rooted to the bottom with four points from ten matches, Pioli was dismissed on 4 November. Paolo Vanoli took the reins and steered Fiorentina to a 15th-place finish on 42 points.
The Conference League gave supporters something to cheer. After seeing off Polissya in the play-off round, the Viola reached the quarter-finals before Crystal Palace ended the adventure, Fiorentina winning 2-1 in Florence but losing 4-2 over the two legs. Their Coppa Italia hopes, meanwhile, were undone by a chastening loss to Como.
Moise Kean was the main man in attack and top-scored with 8 goals in Serie A, ably supported by Albert Guðmundsson. Edin Džeko's spell in Tuscany ended with a January move to Schalke 04, one of several changes in a busy winter that also saw Pablo Marí depart for Al Hilal. A 5-1 win in December, lit up by a Kean double, was the standout league performance of an otherwise testing season.
