Coventry City 2025/2026 Fourth Shirt

COVENTRY CITY - FOURTH SHIRT 2025/2026

Coventry City were founded in 1883 as Singers FC, the works team of a Coventry bicycle manufacturer, adopting their current name in 1898. They hail from the West Midlands city of Coventry and are affectionately known as the Sky Blues, a nickname and colour scheme popularised by legendary manager Jimmy Hill in the 1960s. Their home is the Coventry Building Society Arena, opened in 2005 to replace Highfield Road, the ground that in 1981 became the first all-seater stadium in English football. The club's crowning moment came in 1987, when they beat Tottenham Hotspur 3-2 after extra time at Wembley to win the FA Cup.

The 2025/2026 season, in which this striking fourth shirt made its appearance, will be remembered as the year Coventry came home. Frank Lampard's side were crowned Championship winners on 95 points, eleven ahead of Ipswich Town, sealing automatic promotion and a top-flight return for the first time in 25 years.

This fourth shirt serves as a tribute to the 'worst shirt of all time'; Coventry's iconic brown tramlines away shirt of the late 1970s, infamous for its divisive design. The modern edition was worn on the final day of the 2025/2026 campaign, as Coventry demolished Watford 4-0 at Vicarage Road to finish a record-breaking season in style. The goals came in the form of an Ellis Simms hat-trick and a late long-range rocket from Viktor Torp.
