CF Pachuca 2025/2026 Third Shirt

PACHUCA - THIRD SHIRT 2025/2026

Pachuca are the grand old institution of Mexican football, founded in 1901 by Cornish and English miners who had settled in the hills of Hidalgo, which makes them the oldest club in the country and earns their home city the title of the cradle of Mexican football. Known as Los Tuzos (The Gophers) after the burrowing animals of the local mines, they play at the Estadio Hidalgo and run one of the most admired youth academies in the Americas.

The 2025/2026 campaign, during which this eye-catching third shirt was worn, began under new management after Guillermo Almada's long and trophy-laden era ended, with former Mexico boss Jaime Lozano stepping in during the summer. In the Apertura 2025 the Tuzos finished ninth on 22 points and Lozano was dismissed before the Play-In. Under new boss Esteban Solari, a 3-1 win over Pumas UNAM was followed by a 2-1 defeat to Juárez, ending their hopes of a Liguilla place. They regrouped in the Clausura 2026, finishing fourth on 31 points and knocking out back-to-back champions Toluca 3-0 on aggregate in the quarter-finals.

The semi-final against Pumas was agonisingly close. Pachuca won the first leg 1-0 at the Estadio Hidalgo, but a 1-0 defeat at Ciudad Universitaria levelled the tie and sent Pumas through on their higher league finish. It was a run built on Pachuca's trademark blend of academy graduates and shrewd signings, and it put the Tuzos back among Liga MX's genuine contenders.

The highlight of the year came on the world stage, as Pachuca represented Mexico at the expanded 2025 FIFA Club World Cup in the United States. Drawn into a brutal Group H alongside Real Madrid, Al-Hilal and Red Bull Salzburg, the Tuzos bowed out at the group stage but tested themselves against some of the planet's biggest names.
