BORUSSIA MONCHENGLADBACH - AWAY SHIRT 2015/2016

Borussia Monchengladbach were founded in 1900 and hail from the town of the same name in North Rhine-Westphalia. Known as Die Fohlen (The Foals), they play at Borussia-Park. They were the dominant German side of the 1970s, winning five Bundesliga titles across that decade and etching themselves into the country's football folklore.

2015/2016, the season of this striking away shirt, was a campaign of two halves. The Foals lost their opening five league games, a start so poor that Lucien Favre resigned, and reserve-team coach Andre Schubert stepped up. The turnaround was dramatic. Schubert's side recovered to finish fourth on 55 points, securing a Champions League qualification place that had looked unthinkable in September.

They had reached the group stage of the Champions League itself that autumn, drawn alongside Manchester City, Juventus and Sevilla in one of the toughest pools of the season. In the domestic DFB-Pokal, their run ended in the winter rounds, but the recovery in the league was the story that defined the year.

Brazilian forward Raffael was the standout, top-scoring with 15 goals across all competitions and pulling the strings alongside forward partner Lars Stindl. The revival under Schubert, from bottom of the table to the Champions League places, remains one of the more remarkable in-season turnarounds the Bundesliga has seen.
