Atlas 2025/2026 Third Shirt

ATLAS - THIRD SHIRT 2025/2026

Founded in a Guadalajara bar back in 1916, Atlas owe their famous red and black to Ampleforth College in North Yorkshire, the English school where several of the club's founders had studied. Nicknamed Los Rojinegros (the Red-and-Blacks) and Los Zorros (the Foxes), they call the vast Estadio Jalisco home, the third-largest stadium in Mexico and a venue that hosted matches at the 1970 and 1986 World Cups.

The 2025/2026 season, in which this eye-catching third shirt by Charly was worn, marked the return of Diego Cocca, the coach who had ended Atlas's 70-year title drought with back-to-back championships in 2021 and 2022. A quiet opening Apertura tournament ended without a play-off place, but Atlas found their feet in the Clausura, beating América on the final day of the regular phase to book a liguilla quarter-final, their first since 2023.

That quarter-final pitted them against Cruz Azul. A pulsating 3-2 home defeat in the first leg at the Estadio Jalisco, after Atlas had fought back from two goals down, left them needing a comeback, but a 1-0 loss in the return sealed a 4-2 aggregate exit. The campaign's most charged occasions, as ever, were the Clasico Tapatio derbies with neighbours Chivas.

Captain Aldo Rocha anchored the side once more, with the experienced Colombia international Camilo Vargas a reassuring presence in goal. Atlas remain among the most fervently backed clubs in Mexico, with a famous academy that has produced Rafael Marquez and Andres Guardado. The summer brought change, though: new owners took over and Cocca departed in July 2026, days before the following campaign kicked off.
